Fibonacci Music & Sonification

A sonification project exploring whether mathematical patterns can be heard as well as seen.

These Max/MSP patches were developed as demonstration material for my AWM talk, Music Theory Mod n. The project maps integer sequences modulo 12 onto pitch classes so that mathematical structure becomes audible.

The first example sonifies the Fibonacci sequence modulo 12, whose recurring structure produces recognizable musical patterns. The second applies the same mapping to an RSA pseudorandom number sequence, providing a contrasting example with less immediately perceptible repetition.
